A Turning Wheel
Barony of the Fens
This barony takes its name from the Fens area that was swamp filled in during the 1800s to make more land to expand the city. Major landmarks like Fenway Park and hotspots such as Lansdowne Street and Harvard Ave in Allston give the barony vibrancy while institutions like the Museum of Fine Arts, the Gardner Musuem, [[MASS/Art]] and the various colleges and universities serve as sources of Dreamers and glamour. Unfortunately, mixed in with these bright spots are bureaucracies, bad decisions and regrets that pockmark the area with autumn people and banality.
The majority of wilders in Boston live in the Fens, for all that bodes good and ill. The Baron’s household is usually very busy dealing with disputes among kithain residents more than some of the other risks handled by other nobles. After assuming control of the fiefdom the current Baron – Vassily Mirsk’Varich and his knight Wladislav – quickly asserted his authority and brought things to a calmer baseline by dealing severely with habitual troublemakers.
The more authoritarian style has chafed many residents, but the accompanying and very public extension of his own concepts of his feudal duty to care for the area has bought some acceptance. For now things are in hand, but it remains to be seen how long that will continue.
